Become a Partner Agency

Philly ICO works with a number of schools and social service agencies. Philly ICO covers costs associated with outings for student trips as necessary, including transportation, to get as many possible kids outdoors. To become a partner agency:

1) Contact program chair Amy Kwasnicki at phillyico@gmail.com.
2) Fill out two forms: New Agency Letter of Agreement and New Agency Application

Our most successful partnerships have a dedicated liaison (or liaisons) who works closely with Philly ICO to plan and schedule outings and ensure information about outings is communicated to teachers, parents and students. One to three staff members from a partner agency will typically participate in the outing, however this is not required.

What Philly ICO provides to our partners:

• Full access to our experienced volunteers and volunteer leaders. Volunteer leaders go through outings leadership training and are required to be maintain certification in CPR & First Aid.

• Insurance coverage for students through the Sierra Club.

• Funding as needed for transportation and equipment (binoculars, canoe rentals, etc.)

Philly ICO’s driving mission is to get students outdoors and into nature. We work with our partner agencies to tailor outings fit the activity level and adventure rating appropriate for students. We mainly want students to gain an appreciation for the environment and connect with their natural surroundings. Trips have ranged from forest hikes to canoe excursions to bouldering to fishing.
